Landing fee charged. Minimal. No big deal. Nature walk near airport overrun by "invading species." Horrible. All runways and general area redone with the new FAA stimulus money and new security inevitable resultant accoutrements, Courtesy bikes available if wanted.

Great little airport with wonderful approaches over the water. A great place to practice your short field work. Not much here, but the bathrooms were clean and there is a soda machine.

Flew here yesterday to escape the heat on the mainland. Runways are short but well-paved. When I landed, I was met by the attendant (landing fee $8), who was friendly and welcoming. The FBO keeps bicycles available for riding around the Island (they are not in great condition, but the Island is flat). Bruce directed me to the town center a half-mile away, which has a sandwich and ice cream shop (great ice cream), and also to the beach nearby, at the end of Rwy 30. I walked there and sat on the shore. The beach is rocky, but you can go in the water. FBO bathroom is spotless. If you're coming from the north, contact Groton Tower because you'll probably need to transit their airspace.
