FAA WINGS Credit
How To Get FAA WINGS Credit
for ASF Programs
The FAA WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program has two types of credit: knowledge and flight. The steps required to earn knowledge credit for an AOPA Air Safety Foundation (ASF) online course or safety seminar are listed below.
For more detailed program information, please visit the AOPA Pilot Information Center’s WINGS Subject Report and the FAA’s WINGS Help Page.
- Complete a WINGS-approved online course or attend a WINGS-approved safety seminar presented by the AOPA Air Safety Foundation (ASF).
- Log in to www.faasafety.gov. Note: If you don’t have an FaaSafety.gov account, please complete the registration process before continuing.
- On the left-hand side, under the blue “MyFAASafety.gov” header, click on “My WINGS.”
- On the right-hand side, under the “My WINGS Tools” header, click on “Activity Search and/or Validation.”
- At the bottom of the search fields, click on the orange link to “Show Additional Search Options.”
- In the “Accredited Activity Number” field, type AOPA.
- Click on the gray “Perform Search” button.
- Click on the name of the activity you completed. Note: To find the activity, you may need to use the dropdown box to “Show 50 results per page.”
- On the right-hand side, click on the “Request Credit! Click Here Now!” button.
- Enter the date you completed the activity. Note: This date is listed on your online course completion certificate and/or safety seminar attendance certificate. In addition, online course completion dates are listed on your ASF Transcript.
- Click on the “E-mail” tab, enter aopaasf@aopa.org, then click “Select.” Note: Flight instructors registered on www.faasafety.gov and FAASTeam representatives may also validate ASF activities.
- Click on the “Submit for Validation” button.
You will receive an e-mail from the FAA confirming that your request has been submitted. If you requested validation from aopaasf@aopa.org, please allow three business days for processing. Once the credit has been validated, you will receive another confirmation email from the FAA and the credit will be reflected on your “My WINGS” page on www.faasafety.gov.
