Charleston was hopping. Very busy, but manageable. It appears that 9/27 is the main runway, however when we were there, both were in use, so keep close attention to the people in the pattern (both of them). Atlantic is a great FBO. The staff is very accommodating, friendly, and make you want to come back. We got lucky with the crew car and headed into Charleston. It says it's the closest airport, but still took a good 25 minutes with traffic. With a 2 hour cap on the crew car, it doesn't leave you much time to enjoy. If you're planning on spending some time there, I would plan on a rental...there's a National Rental Car agent at the desk. Flying in here IFR was about as easy as I've had it at an uncontrolled field. I wish more uncontrolled fields had an RCO on the field.

Highly suggest you park on the North end to avoid the $40.00 "Ramp" fee. Also, if with 100LL at $6.90 a gallon from Atlantic, fill-up before you get there. Other stops within an hour of JZI have fuel for $2.00-2.50 less a gallon.

Landed at JZI when we are unable to get into Mt. Pleasant due to disabled aircraft on the runway. This is a high end corporate jet facility. Fuel was very expensive. Unable to get an A & P to take a look at a small problem. FBO personel were very helpful in finding us over night accomodations and transportation but this is not an airport I will be returning to.
