Steve leads the Flying Clubs Initiative, which helps start, grow, and sustain flying clubs nationwide. He started flying as a teenager in England and has flown in the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada.
Prior to AOPA, Steve owned and operated a flight school and before that had a fun career in high tech, in Silicon Valley, California, and before that was a university professor in England.
An active AOPA staff CFI and check pilot, Steve is also a Lead Representative for the FAASTeam, Portland, Oregon, FSDO.
Steve holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering and is a Chartered Electrical Engineer.

Cade is the Manager of the AOPA Flying Clubs Initiative. He holds a private pilot certificate and is a formation-qualified AOPA staff pilot.
Prior to joining AOPA, Cade was a Critical Care Flight Paramedic for a Level 1 Trauma Center on EC-135 helicopters. After that, he was a Police Officer in Charleston, SC, where he was a member of the Under Water Recovery Team and maintained his medical license as a Tactical Paramedic. Cade started with AOPA as a Medical Certification Specialist before transitioning to his current role with the AOPA You Can Fly Foundation.
Cade holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
