Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum's Open Cockpit Day
The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum celebrates aviation fun with an Open Cockpit Day. Located at Martin State Airport, this unique event offers visitors the opportunity to launch a dream and capture a memory on summer Second Saturdays with an up close visit to the Museum's outdoor flight line of airplanes. Visitors can get into the aircraft, sit in the pilot's seat of a jet fighter, board a 1952 passenger plane built in Middle River and explore the Museum's exhibit "They Answered the Call", a salute to the World War II employees of the Glenn L. Martin Company. Visitors will see aircraft named Phantom, Voodoo, Skyhawk, Thunderchief, Thunderflash, the Wild Weasel, Super Sabre, Cougar and Cloudster. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. If the weather brings a rainy day, this outdoor event will not be held.
