Friday Night Flightline Cookout
Enjoy an evening with family, friends, food, entertainment, and camaraderie alongside some pretty cool aerial demonstrations!
Signage Setup - Volunteers will be assisting with initial setup of signage. Please note this is a physical position and will require lifting.
Perimeter Setup - These volunteers will assist in the placement of barricades and cones to define fly-in boundaries and pedestrian traffic flow.
Volunteer Tent - Set-up and greet incoming volunteers while assisting with volunteer check-in using online registration. Provide volunteers with shirts and hats.
Airside Operations - Volunteers will be assisting with aircraft parking, greeting, taking fuel orders, and directional guidance. Please note these shifts are five-hour shifts that have a large amount of standing involved (bring a folding or camping chair if you'd like!). Due to the nature of this position, we ask that only certificated pilots, age 18 and above, apply.
STOL Area Setup - These volunteers will assist in the placement of barricades and cones to define STOL boundaries and pedestrian traffic flow, as well as other duties.
Exhibitor Load-In - Assist incoming exhibitors with loading their equipment into Exhibit Hall.
Exhibitor Registration - Greet incoming exhibitors while assisting with exhibitor check-in using online registration.
Coffee and Drink Hero - If you know pilots, they NEED coffee. Volunteers are in charge of all coffee aspects, making sure that there is an adequate supply of brew and fixings.
Breakfast Ticket Collector - Volunteers are in charge of collecting meal tickets that attendees have purchased at the Tickets & Info Booth.
Workshop Tent Host - Volunteers sell beverages to attendees using various payment methods.
Cookout Setup - Volunteers will assist AOPA staff in initial event set-up.
Cookout Assistance - Volunteers will assist AOPA staff in with the Cookout operations.
Exhibit Hall Setup - Volunteers will assist AOPA staff in readying the exhibit hall for the day and possible load in of remaining equipment.
Exhibit Hall Re-Stage - Volunteers will assist AOPA staff in Exhibit Hall clean-up and re-staging of hand-outs and equipment, securing of Static Display furniture, and closing and securing the Exhibit Hall tent flaps. *Must be able to carry/stand on/climb a ten-foot ladder.
General Clean-Up - Volunteers will be assisting with take down of signage. Please note this is a physical position and will require lifting.
Power Equipment Cleanup - These volunteers will assist AOPA staff in movement of furniture, power cords, and other show elements from various locations to staging area.
Show Perimeter Tear-Down - These volunteers will assist in the removal of barricades and cones.
Clean-Up Walk - Volunteers will walk the show areas looking for trash and any objects that might cause damage to aircraft, personnel, and turning props.
These in-depth learning experiences will be at a professional “ground school” level of education. You’ll leave each workshop with a logbook endorsement attesting that you've completed three hours of ground training!
Rusty Pilot Seminar details:
Getting back to flying is easier than you think. This seminar gives you all the info you need to get current again, including three hours of ground instruction, valuable take-home materials, and more. Seminar is on Saturday from 9:00AM - 12:00PM.
