CAU names second Reach Flight Center
Expands access to flight training degree pathways in Virginia
This month, California Aeronautical University (CAU) announced Aviation Adventures as its second Reach Flight Center—expanding university-connected flight training opportunities across Virginia.
Founded in 1989, Aviation Adventures operates five locations throughout the state and has built a strong reputation for structured, safety-focused instruction. With decades of experience serving the mid-Atlantic aviation community, the school provides training for both recreational pilots and those pursuing professional careers.
By joining CAU’s Reach Flight Center network, Aviation Adventures students can now complete their in-person flight training locally while earning a Bachelor of Science in aeronautics online through CAU. The model is designed to provide a coordinated pathway: FAA-approved flight training combined with university-level academics and career support.

Career guidance, financial aid to those who qualify, FAA-approved local flight training, a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics, and pathways to regional airline cockpits—this program has it all.”
For students, the collaboration means access to structured flight instruction and academic coursework tailored specifically to aviation, restricted ATP (R-ATP) time-saving benefits, direct pipelines to airline cadet programs, and graduate services support such as interview preparation and career advising. For the industry, it represents another scalable model for developing career-ready pilots without requiring students to relocate.
Airlines continue to emphasize professionalism, leadership, and academic preparedness alongside flight experience. Through CAU’s airline relationships—including pathways with United Airlines and SkyWest Airlines—students training at Reach Flight Centers can align their education with clearly defined career tracks.
