A new website from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) focuses on making it easier for small business owners to find the answers, support, and resources they need to start-up, succeed, and grow.
The site contains literally thousands of links to useful information, such as tips on starting and managing a business, obtaining loans and grants, training, and links to local resources.
The SBA has spent considerable time and effort in making their site user friendly by implementing a dynamic Web tool called SBA Direct, which essentially lets small business owners personalize their search based on their specific business profile, location, and needs.
Say, for example, your flight school is located in San Diego and you are looking for more information on SBA’s loan programs, but also seeking new ways to market your business. You simply enter your preferences via the home page interface into SBA Direct, and it will deliver filtered content specifically matching your needs.
Networking and idea exchange with fellow business owners can still be the most powerful tool in helping us make wise choices because there is simply no replacement for experience and action. The SBA site provides an invaluable discussion board where you will find everything from local events to tips on taxes and employment laws.
