                                    | Pilot, A&P sentenced for falsifying maintenance records |  
                                    | Two men were sentenced March 20 in U.S. district court for falsifying airplane maintenance records at Palm Beach County Park Airport (LNA) in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ulipiano Luis Amy was sentenced to six months of house arrest and three years of probation, while James Schiller received two years of probation. Amy’s pilot certificate and Schiller’s A&P certificate were revoked, according to MyPalmBeachPost.com. |  
                            
                                
                                    | Flight instructor spots N.C. house fire, calls for help |  
                                    | A pilot and flight instructor spotted a house fire in Franklin, North Carolina, during routine landing practice. Flight instructor Marc Bryson radioed the Macon County Airport (1A5) to alert someone of the blaze, and airport personnel contacted fire crews. The homeowners were not in the house at the time of the incident, according to WENY News. |  
                            
                                
                                    | W.Va. college aviation program acquires Cessna 172 |  
                                    | Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia, has acquired a 2017 Cessna 172 Skyhawk for its Part 141 aviation program. The airplane is equipped with a Garmin G1000 avionics package and airbag seatbelts. Fairmont State University offers a bachelor of science degree in aviation technology with options in professional flight, aviation administration management, and aviation maintenance management, according to The Fairmont News. |
