| FAA notes compliance exceptions for ADS-B airspace |
| The FAA has issued a policy statement that explains circumstances when operators of aircraft equipped to comply with the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out mandate will avoid enforcement for technical failures “outside their control.” The statement does not give blanket absolution for failing to comply with ADS-B equipage and performance requirements.

| ATP Flight School sponsors FIRCs for its graduates |
| ATP Flight School is sending its new instructors into the world with a bonus: a free flight instructor refresher clinic course from King Schools. The benefit is made available through the ATP Alumni Association. King Schools courseware is integrated into ATP’s airline career pilot program. ATP Flight Schools estimates there are more than 10,000 graduates of its pilot programs, according to a press release.

| FAA explains how, when to use clearance delivery phone service |
| Pilots have questions about how to use the new direct phone numbers to use for clearance delivery, and AOPA has been working with the FAA to address those questions. Pilots can start by becoming familiar with the communications facilities in use at the airports they use.

| Montana flight school hosts cancer survivor camp |
| Summit Aviation, Helena, Montana, is hosting four fighters and survivors of cancer at the sixth annual Cancer Survivor Flight Camp. The participants get flight lessons, airport tours, and camaraderie. Summit flight instructors say they love the experience of teaching during the flight camp. Summit partners with a local charitable organization to put on the event. AOPA Pilot magazine profiled the cancer survivors flight camp in a January 2019 article.
