FAA extends June 30 SFAR deadline |
The FAA announced June 18 that it has a rule in the works to extend airman medical certificates that expired during the coronavirus pandemic and then had their expiration dates extended to June 30 under a special federal aviation regulation issued in April. FAA Deputy Administrator Daniel Elwell made the announcement during an online General Aviation Safety Town Hall.

Lifestyle Aviation, a general aviation piston aircraft distributor, is expanding its leasing business to assist flight schools challenged by cash liquidity during the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic. TSA gives flight schools more time to start foreign students' training |
Flight schools that train security-vetted foreign nationals have been granted more time to begin some students' training under a temporary exemption announced by the Transportation Security Administration. The exemption will be in effect until September 1.

AOPA cancels Rochester, N.Y., fly-in |
AOPA is canceling its September fly-in in Rochester, N.Y., as a result of ongoing issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, AOPA was forced to cancel its fly-in events in San Marcos, Texas, and Casper, Wyoming. AOPA is working with local officials and organizers for all our 2020 fly-ins on potential future dates for those events.
