Coronavirus affects aviation events
The coronavirus pandemic has prompted many organizations to postpone or cancel upcoming events. Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida, has been delayed until May 5 through 10. The Aircraft Electronics Association delayed its annual convention, set to start March 24, but did not release a new date. The AOPA Air Safety Institute has canceled its live safety seminars and in-person flight instructor refresher clinics until further notice. READ MORE ›

Senior AME offers tips to protect yourself from coronavirus

Swift Fuels cuts price of unleaded avgas STC
Swift Fuels is cutting the price of its unleaded avgas supplemental type certificate for piston aircraft as it works to replace 100-octaine leaded aviation fuel with an unleaded alternative. The new price for the UL94 Avgas STC is $100 per piston aircraft. READ MORE ›
FAA issues updated guidance on expense sharing

Tom Cruise helps actor learn to fly
Top Gun: Maverick actor Tom Cruise played a significant role in helping a co-star become a student pilot. Actor Glen Powell recently took his first solo flight, according to the Daily Mail. A video shows Powell dancing with the back of his shirt cut, with Cruise celebrating too. Powell said Cruise bought him flight lessons as a Christmas gift. Top Gun: Maverick opens in theaters June 24.
