AOPA 'You Can Fly' guides refreshed for summer flying
The AOPA Foundation's You Can Fly program has updated a set of flight training field guides to help student pilots, CFIs, and flight schools get the most out of their flight training experience. The field guides are a collection of flight training best practices, advice, and information collected from students, CFIs, and flight school staff who shared what has worked for them in the past. Flight schools will find valuable knowledge for running a successful business, including tips for setting and building goals and having a strong foundation for success. READ MORE ›
Kansas flight school orders 30 Tecnam aircraft
Kilo Charlie Aviation has ordered 30 Tecnam aircraft to be added to its fleet over the next two years. The school will be getting Tecnam's P-Mentor two-seat trainers and twin-engine P2006Ts that its customers will use to transition to multiengine training. Kilo Charlie Aviation is located near Kansas City at New Century AirCenter (IXD). The school has 96 students and was founded in 2020 by Robert Renfro and Drew Konicek, according to a news release.
ATP Flight School to acquire 40 Cessna Skyhawks
ATP Flight School has agreed to purchase 40 Cessna Skyhawk aircraft, Textron Aviation announced. The aircraft will be added to ATP's existing fleet of nearly 200 Skyhawks positioned across 82 training centers nationwide, according to a news release. ATP Flight School said it is scaling up to train 20,000 airline pilots by 2030.
AV8 Prep introduces online ground school
AV8 Prep unveiled a suite of online ground school courses for pilots, including courses for private pilot, instrument rating, commercial certificate, certificated flight instructor, and drone certificate. The courses combine studio and live style lectures and interviews to cover aviation communication and the federal aviation regulations, along with 3D animations and in-cockpit videos. Each course is taught by a rotating team of five instructors. The platform offers students the opportunity to access course materials, participate in interactive simulations, and collaborate with instructors and other student pilots in real time.
