Double Eagle Aviation AdventureDouble Eagle Aviation Adventure

Applications are being accepted for the 2nd annual Double Eagle Aviation Adventure (DEAA), SPACE LIMITED! An opportunity for ages 13-17 to explore a future in aviation, this program offers a fun, fast paced mix of classroom and hands-on experiences. Application deadline is April 18, 2014 Prospective students and parents are invited to an Informational Open House at Double Eagle II Airport Saturday, March 15 from 10am – Noon. Participants spend a week at the airport, interacting with career and hobby pilots, mechanics, engineers, homebuilders, air traffic controllers, and other aviation specialists. They learn how an airplane flies and how pilots plan a flight, communicate, and navigate. Students practice aircraft building techniques, see airplanes and helicopters up close, and visit a control tower. On Saturday, a dedicated Young Eagles event offers the opportunity to fly a route they planned with a licensed pilot. Download flyer and application from website. Tuition $99.
