Wings and Wheels - Globe Swift Day and Airliners Collectibles ShowWings and Wheels - Globe Swift Day and Airliners Collectibles Show

Enjoy our monthly fly-in at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, inside the original art-deco terminal building at Houston Hobby Airport! From 11 am to 3 pm we invite aircraft to stop by Hobby, a very GA-friendly airport, and park at the 'old terminal'. It's Globe Swift Day! The Globe Swift was the first low wing, two-place retractable-gear general aviation aircraft, and it was produced here in Texas! This aircraft had fighter-plane looks that made it a real eye-catcher. Over 1500 were produced in Fort Worth and Grand Prarie, Texas. We are welcoming the Red River Swift Wing and any pilots of these great aircraft to visit the 1940 Air Terminal Museum in October. Of course, any and every plane is welcome to our ramp! Also, from 9 am to 3 pm we are happy to host the 23rd annual Houston Airliners Collectibles show in the Atrium. -- Admission ($7 adult, $3 kids 12 and under) is waived for anyone who flies in or drives up in a classic car, as well as for their passengers. A local roving food vendor will be by around lunchtime. Join us at Hobby and see what flies in!
