Free Aviation Speaker Series
At 7pm to 8:30pm, the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum’s free July Aviation Speaker Series held in the Lockheed Martin Auditorium 4 blocks from the Museum, brings the return of author Bob Dorr who will talk about his latest books on World War II, "Fighting Hitler’s Jets" and "Mission to Tokyo". Published in 2013, "Fighting Hitler’s Jets" describes Nazi Germany’s introduction of jet and rocket powered aircraft into the aerial battlefields of World War II. The book also discusses the actions taken by the Allies to counter these advanced aircraft. Focused in part on the firebomb mission to the Japanese capital on the night of March 9–10, 1945, "Mission to Tokyo" is based on interviews with crew members. Although admission is free, a photo ID is required for entry into the facility. Following his presentation, Mr. Dorr will be selling and signing copies of his book.
