Visit the Livingston County Spencer J. Hardy Airport on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Livingston County’s first air show.
The air show stars Greg Koontz, a full-time airshow and aerobatics professional. He and his wife Cora run a Bed & Breakfast on a private grass strip in Ashville, Ala. that is home for their busy aerobatic school and airshow business. Koontz will be flying two acts in his Super Decathlon and Piper Cub aircraft and is scheduled to perform at 12:30.
Kevin Copland will be also performing his aerobatic act in his Super Decathlon aircraft. Kevin is based out of Traverse City, Michigan and performs and competes at Air Shows and Aerobatic Competitions throughout the Midwestern United States.
In addition to the air show aerobatics, there will be static displays and formation fly overs of warbirds to modern technologically advanced aircraft. Aircraft manufacturers Cessna, Cirrus and Diamond Aircraft will have booths and aircraft on display. Western Michigan University and Northern Michigan College will have representatives from their aviation degree programs at the airport. Howell High School will have people on site to talk about their new ground school offering. The Civil Air Patrol and the Experimental Aircraft Association will be there as well as the C-47 from the Yankee Air Museum. In addition, several T-6 and L-39 warbirds will be at the airport and do some local flying.
There will be food vendors available. Come and enjoy with family and friends!
