Let's go RACING! Registration is now open for the Havasu 600 Air Race. The Rio Colorado chapter of the Ninety Nines in Lake Havasu, AZ is having an air race. We are planning a two day, cross country air race of approximately 600 miles, November 13 & 14, 2015. We’ve loosely modeled it after Claire Walters "Palms to Pines” race that was established in 1970 and ran for 40 years, but bring the guys – our race is co-ed! Each year the Race will start at a different location with a course of approximately 600nm. The Race will terminate each year in Lake Havasu, AZ.
DRAWING FOR FIRST TEN RACE NUMBERS-if your completed entry is received by August 31, 2015 you are entered into the drawing for race numbers 1 through 10. We will hold the drawing Labor Day weekend and notify you if your name has been drawn. Numbers 1 through 10 will be determined by drawing only. All other numbers will be assigned in the order the completed entries were received. Entry deadline for all entries is Oct 14, 2015.
This year's course starts at Jacqueline Cochran airport (KTRM) in Thermal, CA with the Start hosted by the Coachella Valley 99s. The first fly-by will be in Wickenberg AZ (E25) Then on to our overnight stop in Mesquite Nevada (67L)
Up with the sun and racing on to a fly-by at Indian Hills Airpark near Salome, AZ (2AZ1) to terminate with a party and awards in Lake Havasu, AZ (KHII) and hosted by the Rio Colorado 99s.
