Scare a Controller Potluck and Fly in hosted by EAA Chapter 1456Scare a Controller Potluck and Fly in hosted by EAA Chapter 1456

For the past few years our local EAA Chapter has hosted a potluck picnic to show our appreciation for the military air traffic controllers at Shaw AFB by having them be passengers as volunteer pilots shoot low VFR approaches over their runway. Not only is this a lot of fun for the Airmen who've never flown in a GA aircraft, it's a great opportunity to see the airspace from beyond the radar screen. This year we're opening it up to pilots and air traffic controllers from the surrounding area who might want to fly low over a military air base and enjoy the company of fellow aviation enthusiasts. You don't even have to be a member of EAA to fly your plane or help out on the ground...all you need is a love of aviation and a willingness to show your support for our military folks who keep us safe. As a potluck, food and drink donations will be highly appreciated so cook up your favorite side dish or dessert and bring it to the party!
