Wings and Wheels Chopper DayWings and Wheels Chopper Day

Enjoy our monthly fly-in at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, inside the original art-deco terminal building at Houston Hobby Airport! From 11 am to 3 pm we invite aircraft to stop by Hobby, enjoy the hospitality of our very GA-friendly airport, and park at the 'old terminal'. We're proud to be part of preserving Hobby's original terminal building, now in its 75th year! The theme this month is Chopper Day! We've invited Memorial Hermann LifeFlight and our great friends at Landry's next door to show off their helicopters. Texas Blue Knights will bring their motorcycles and talk about their mission. Fly in and your plane becomes part of the display, as we make it possible for people to get up close to real planes and chat with real pilots - with a commercial airport as our backdrop. You may inspire someone to get their own wings! Any and all aircraft are welcome to our ramp (please contact us so we can expect you) where security-badged volunteers provide supervised access to the public. Just tell the nice folks on the radio you'd like to park at 'the old terminal' or 'the museum'. Hobby is a GA friendly airport, featuring Texas-sized hospitality! Admission ($7 adult, $3 kids 12 and under) is waived for anyone who flies in or drives up in a classic car, as well as for their passengers. A local roving food vendor will be by around lunchtime. Our regular history presentation will start at 12:30.
