AOPA seeks pilot comments on Nantucket Class C

AOPA is asking for pilot comments on the FAA's proposal to restrict general aviation access to Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) by establishing new Class C airspace around the island.

"Most GA pilots fly to Nantucket on the weekend," said Andy Cebula, AOPA senior vice president of government and technical affairs. "But the FAA scheduled its meetings to get pilot input on weekdays, when most of the affected pilots won't be able to attend. AOPA will make sure that comments we get from these pilots will be forcefully presented to the FAA."

Comments can be e-mailed to [email protected].

AOPA is also distributing an urgent notice to area pilots to alert them to the FAA's proposal and encourage their attendance at the "informal airspace meetings" August 20-21.
