With the tragic events that occurred this past Tuesday, and the subsequent aviation fallout, it seems prudent for me to cancel the Charlotte Pilot Town Meeting, scheduled for Monday, September 17, 2001, 7:30 p.m., at the Clarion Hotel on Woodlawn Road. This is the first time in my almost 11 years of doing these meetings that one has been canceled.
While your opinions on the current state of affairs during this crisis would be valuable to our organization, it seems my time would be better spent in the nation's capital, participating in the dialogue to restore the nation's aviation system for all classes of users.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and please pass on this cancellation message to any of your pilot friends.
