To: Pilots who use 87 or 89 octane gasoline for aviation applications
Marathon Ashland Petroleum LLC (MAP) has identified the presence of foreign materials in some of the 87 octane and 89 octane gasoline distributed throughout West Virginia, and in Kentucky and Ohio.
In the course of investigating this issue, MAP has learned that some retail customers use 87 or 89 octane gasoline for aviation applications.
While no consumers have reported problems with 87 or 89 octane gasoline use in automobiles, we're advising anyone who uses automobile gasoline for aviation purposes to call 1-800/892-3418.
Operators will record your name and location, and a company representative will contact you with additional information.
