Winter Olympic Games airspace closed during closing ceremonies

Salt Lake City-area pilots are reminded that the airspace within 45 nautical miles of SLC International will be closed to all air traffic during the Winter Olympic Games closing ceremonies this Sunday (February 24) from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. MST.

Only aeromedical, military, and security aircraft along with aircraft instructed by ATC will be permitted within the Olympic-ring TFR area. Although the majority of airspace restrictions implemented for security at the games expire at 12:01 a.m. MST on February 25, slot reservations continue to be required at the four outlying airports through Feb. 25 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
