If only everything were this easy. AOPA Online has made the potential aircraft buyer's task even more pleasant. Vref online helps make the dream of aircraft ownership a reality by performing easy aircraft valuations. In eight steps, potential buyers can input information on the aircraft they are considering purchasing and Vref will calculate what the cost of the aircraft should be. From a pull-down menu, purchasers select the aircraft that they are considering purchasing — and comprehensive information on all GA aircraft from Gulfstream to Piper is available — select the aircraft's age, enter all options and added equipment, add in the airframe total time and engine time since overhaul, and voilà, Vref calculates the estimated value of the aircraft. AOPA Online also provides an operating-cost calculator and a payment calculator. Additionally, online you'll find classified ads with aircraft for sale, aircraft reports from AOPA Pilot magazine, and AOPA's booklet Tips for Buying Used Aircraft. For more information on Vref, visit the Web site ( www.aopa.org/members/vref/).

AOPA's accidental death and dismemberment insurance for pilots has a new name, with the same guaranteed coverage for general aviation pilots. The program formerly known as AOPA FlightPlus is now AOPA Aviation AD&D Insurance. This members-only coverage is available for purchase in increments up to $150,000. A medical exam is not required, and there are no restrictions based on age, pilot ratings, or flight hours. "AOPA wants to make sure that all its member pilots, VFR and IFR, have the coverage they need every time they fly, whether as pilots in command or as passengers," said Karen Gebhart, senior vice president of AOPA Products and Services.
