Steve Mood named AOPA local area network manager

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has named Steve Mood its local area network manager. In his position within the AOPA Information and Technology department, Mood oversees day-to-day computer network operations and supervises help desk personnel. Mood also plans and implements new network technologies at AOPA's Frederick, Md., headquarters and supports network operations at AOPA's Washington, D.C., and Oklahoma City, Okla., offices.

Mood comes to AOPA with extensive experience both as a network manager and pilot. He joined the AOPA Information and Technology department in 2000 as a local area network specialist. Previously, Mood worked as the local area network manager for Forms Direct in Frederick, and as a software instructor with Solutionworks in Frederick.

Mood holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. A pilot with numerous hours of experience in various types of aircraft, he's also a certificated flight instructor-instrument (CFII).

Mood lives in Frederick with his wife Mary Ann and their sons Collin and Quinn.
