During Saturday's final general session, Air Safety Foundation Executive Director Bruce Landsberg took time to honor Lessing Stern, one of the foundation's major benefactors.
Stern, a member of the foundation's Board of Visitors, made a large donation that allows ASF to continue offering a number of important safety programs.
"Many people think that AOPA provides most of the Air Safety Foundation's funding," said Landsberg. "But in fact, AOPA provides only 10 percent of ASF's funds. Almost all of the rest comes from individual donors. Every donation helps us work to improve aviation safety."
