Pilot Town Meetings

To borrow a page from The Late Show with David Letterman, here are the top five reasons why you should attend a Pilot Town Meeting - AOPA's lively forums on general aviation held in cities around the country.

5. Up-to-the-minute information. Stay abreast of new rules and regulations, state or federal legislation, and bills that could encroach your right to fly, and learn about everything AOPA is doing to keep flying safe, affordable, and fun.

4. Value. Attendance is free! A Pilot Town Meeting typically contains almost two hours' worth of information about national developments as well as flying in your area. There are free handouts on safety, weather, and AOPA services and programs.

3. Convenience. Pilot Town Meetings are scheduled in metropolitan areas around the country so that you don't have to travel to our headquarters to see what AOPA is doing for our members. PTMs have been held in more than 100 cities.

2. Feedback. This is your chance to tell AOPA in person what we're doing right or wrong and whether you believe your membership dollars are well-spent. Direct, personal exchange and continual feedback are just two of the reasons your association's president developed the PTM format.

And the number-one reason to attend a Pilot Town Meeting ...

1. Phil Boyer. AOPA's president presents each Pilot Town Meeting and regards each one as a chance to understand your concerns and provide you with better service. Since 1992 Boyer has conducted more than 300 PTMs for more than 63,000 pilots and aircraft owners.

Pilot Town Meetings for the month of July will be held in Texas, Kansas, and Louisiana. The next meetings will be in Arizona and California during September. For the latest schedule, see AOPA Online or call 800/USA-AOPA for the details.
