FAA joins AOPA's efforts to educate D.C.-area pilots on flight restrictions

Following AOPA's example, the FAA is taking a more hands-on approach to make sure pilots in the Baltimore-Washington area understand the complex ADIZ airspace around the nation's capital and the many other flight restrictions impacting pilots nationwide.

FAA officials from Washington and the Eastern Region will hold three seminars to explain changes and operational procedures to area pilots, using AOPA's online ADIZ course and the Air Safety Foundation's Know Before You Go online course.

Officials will take questions and talk about the top 10 pilot complaints. E-mail your questions to the FAA prior to the meeting.

The meetings are scheduled for: Martin State Airport (MTN) on Saturday, November 15 at 9 a.m. in the National Guard auditorium; Montgomery County Airpark (GAI) on Saturday, November 22 at 9 a.m. in the maintenance hangar; and Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) on Sunday, November 23 at 1 p.m. at Dulles Aviation.
