AOPA credit card holders have saved over half a million dollars thanks to the 5-percent discount offered by Sporty's Pilot Shop.
"Sporty's has a long history of supporting general aviation and AOPA," said Karen Gebhart, AOPA's senior vice president of products and services. "Offering this discount is just one more example of that support."

Working with AOPA Member Products partner MBNA America Bank, Sporty's offers an instant 5-percent discount to AOPA members using AOPA credit cards on every product Sporty's sells.
"We honor the discount on any purchase made with the AOPA credit card," said Shevers, "from our award-winning DVD flight training courses to chart subscriptions to headsets and GPS units. AOPA members are saving $1,000 a day."
"If you get the 5-percent discount at Sporty's, you're not allowed to submit the same purchase for the 5% FBO Rebate program," said Gebhart.
The 5% FBO rebate program allows AOPA credit card holders to get 5 percent back, up to $250 per year, on purchases at qualified FBOs, from pilot supplies to flight instruction to fuel. Discounted purchases at Sporty's do not count against the $250-per-year maximum rebate.
