AOPA President Phil Boyer, in California for a series of Pilot Town Meetings, got a firsthand look at the Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Company during a stop in Corona on Wednesday. Aircraft Spruce is a major supplier of components for aircraft homebuilders and restorers.

"It certainly is impressive to see all the options available today to pilots who are building or restoring their own aircraft," Boyer said.

Aircraft Spruce has been in business since 1965. It is building a new home for its East Coast operation in Peachtree City, Ga., just outside Atlanta. The company says the larger facility will make it possible to handle a larger volume of orders more efficiently.

In addition to its warehouses in California and Georgia, Aircraft Spruce runs an avionics shop in Chino, California.
