AOPA President Phil Boyer last night paid a surprise tribute to Dave and Peggy Weiman, publishers of Midwest Flyer magazine. Boyer presented Dave with an AOPA Presidential Citation during a Pilot Town Meeting in Milwaukee. Peggy was unable to attend—she was busy getting the next issue ready to print.
"For 25 years, Dave and Peggy have been true friends of AOPA and general aviation," said Boyer. "Through Midwest Flyer and its two sister publications, the Weimans have shared their passion for flying with thousands of pilots in the heartland."
The citation reads, in part, "The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association gratefully acknowledges your dedicated efforts on behalf of general aviation pilots and commends you for one quarter century of quality aviation reporting."
In addition to Midwest Flyer, the Weimans publish World Airshow News and Airshow Professional.
