FAA solicits Alaska pilots' input on weather services

The FAA wants to see if it can offer better weather service to pilots in Alaska and needs to hear directly from pilots. They're conducting an online survey so they can better understand what users need regarding ceiling and visibility information. AOPA has been working with the FAA Weather Sensors and Products Group on the Alaska initiative and strongly encourages members to take part in the survey.

Many of the questions include a "Comments" area for expanded answers.

"We plan to continue our close working relationship with both the FAA and Alaska users," said AOPA Alaska Regional Representative Tom George. "We want to ensure that the results of the survey will lead to better weather products for both pilots and flight service station briefers."

The FAA survey will be available online until October 31, 2003.
