AOPA urges central Fla. pilots to attend airspace meetings

Pilots who fly in or through the central Florida area should try to attend one of two public meetings on redesigning the area's airspace.

The FAA wants to hear from pilots on proposals to change the airspace around Orlando Sanford International Airport to Class C airspace and to modify the existing Orlando Class B airspace. AOPA has been part of ongoing discussions about the proposals and now urges pilots to provide the FAA with direct user input.

The meetings are scheduled for Thursday, November 6, in the Vigilante Room at Orlando Sanford's Terminal A, and Friday, November 7, at the Orlando Airport Marriott, 7488 National Drive, Orlando.

Formal comments are due by December 8, 2003, and must be sent in triplicate to Manager, Air Traffic Division, Southern Region ASO-500, Federal Aviation Administration, P.O. Box 20636, Atlanta, GA 30320.
