Plain language
After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, numerous temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) have been established for security reasons. Pilots must check all notams during their flight planning. TFRs change continuously and new ones are being created frequently. But what if you don't understand the notam? AOPA's plain language guidance will help. Following the posted official notam on the AOPA Web site ( www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html) you'll see bright red type labeled "Plain-language guidance." AOPA's aviation specialists pare down the official language into real-world wordage. This is guidance you'll understand — and can use.

Celebrating 10 years
Since its inception in 1993, the AOPA Insurance Agency has issued more than 250,000 quotations and has grown to become the world's largest light-aircraft insurance brokerage.
