Apr. 15, 2004 - With less than two months left in the 2004 legislative session, AOPA is turning up the heat in South Carolina to unclog legislation from committee that would increase funds for the state's airports.
Working in concert with South Carolina pilots and aviation trade groups, AOPA wrote Senate leaders once again this week to push House Bill 4537 through the Senate. The bill, which among other things dedicates more money for the aviation fund, overwhelmingly passed the House but has been stalled in the Senate since February because of political opposition to a provision that transfers the aeronautics division from Commerce to Transportation.
