AOPA is encouraging members to speak out in support of Livermore Municipal Airport in Livermore, California. The Livermore Planning Commission will hold a hearing on May 5 to consider input on the proposed airport master plan update. Residents in surrounding communities have opposed the plan because they think it would increase aircraft noise and traffic at the airport. Local pilots, however, support the master plan's proposed improvements to general aviation facilities, which would include additional hangars to meet the growing demand. The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Livermore's Shrine Event Center, 170 Lindbergh Avenue. For more information, contact the City of Livermore's Planning Division at 925/960-4450.
