AOPA and the Colorado Pilots Association are supporting a state bill that would help support general aviation infrastructure and the economic viability of airports. AOPA Central Regional Representative Bill Hamilton testified this week before the Colorado legislature on House Bill 1314, sponsored by Rep. Alice Borodkin, that would allow airports to apply for aviation development zones. These zones would provide tax advantages for aviation manufacturers to keep business in the state. The companion bill is sponsored by Sen. Lewis Entz, an AOPA member and past winner of the AOPA Joseph B. Hartranft Award.
