More than 850 people visited AOPA's big yellow tent on Tuesday, and that number was even higher today as crowds gathered to check out AOPA's Commander Countdown Sweepstakes airplane, get insurance quotes, test AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner, and more.
Sun 'n Fun visitors are closely examining what they hope will be their Commander next year. And they've been able to give the aircraft a thorough inspection. AOPA staff removed the cowling so people could get a close-up look at the Commander's 200-hp Lycoming IO-360 engine. AOPA members are saying, "This is the one we want to win."
While AOPA members are imagining how they'll look behind the yoke of their Commander, they are also taking care of business on their current aircraft by getting quotes from the AOPA Insurance Agency.
One member learned that he can save almost $1,000 on insurance with the AOPA Insurance Agency. What's he going to do with the extra dough? Buy a new GPS.
Another big draw at the tent has been AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner. Staff members have been giving demonstrations to groups and answering specific questions for individual members, even helping them plan flights from their home airports.
Remember, those who stop by the tent can enter daily drawings. Prizes include an AOPA umbrella, blanket, clock, sweatshirt, AOPA day bag, and duffel bag.
