key AOPA staffers answered members' questions in hour-long hangar sessions.

Sun 'n Fun spectators arrived at AOPA's big yellow tent this morning before it was fully open, and the excitement that has been building all week is overflowing. Almost everywhere you turn, you'll see someone donning an AOPA Day sticker. They are all hoping for the same thing - one of two Garmin 296 handheld GPS and one of 10 AOPA Sporty's watches. AOPA's Surprize Squad will be out on the prowl today, "pulling over" the winners.

AOPA staff are giving demonstrations of AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner and the AOPA Online Safety Center (visitors can receive a free CD containing safety courses from the AOPA Online Safety Center and AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner). You also can get insurance quotes, fill out AOPA credit card applications, and start or renew membership.

AOPA President Phil Boyer and other key AOPA staffers will each be available today to answer questions in informal hour-long hangar sessions at the reception area next to the AOPA tent.

Visitors can speak one-on-one with AOPA Air Safety Foundation Executive Director Bruce Landsberg about new courses from the AOPA Online Safety Center. AOPA Director of Medical Certification Gary Crump will discuss how AOPA helps save some 6,000 medical certifications each year and answer visitors' medical questions. AOPA Pilot Editor-in-Chief Tom Haines will discuss how the association publishes the world's favorite aviation magazine. Famed aviation photographer Mike Fizer will talk about techniques to take better airshow and aviation photographs, while AOPA Pilot editors Steve Ells and Tom Horne will discuss the restoration of the Commander Countdown Sweepstakes airplane.

AOPA also is giving away free AOPA caps to help keep the sun out of your eyes. Remember, you can receive a $5 discount off the single-day admission for you, your spouse, and one other adult guest. This discount cannot be combined with any other special admission offers.
