AOPA is supporting proposed changes to Victor Airway 363 near Camp Pendleton in Southern California. The airway realignment would give pilots a path around a newly established Camp Pendleton restricted area (R-2503D).

In comments on the proposal, AOPA noted that the existing airways structure around the military area required pilots to deviate some 10 nm offshore or 20 nm inland to avoid the restricted area. "AOPA believes the realignment of V363 will provide an available route for circumnavigating the Camp Pendleton range complex and will have a positive impact to general aviation pilots transitioning along the Southern California coastline," AOPA said.
