On February 11, AOPA member Roy Wilbanks went to bed a newly minted winner of the 2004 AOPA Win-A-Twin Sweepstakes Twin Comanche airplane. The next morning - after no sleep! - he flew that beautiful prize to his home field of Greenwood, S.C. (GRD). (Actually, AOPA Pilot Editor-at-Large Tom Horne was in the left seat, after a good night's sleep.)
Awaiting Roy at Greenwood were more than 50 ecstatic family members and friends and the media. See a short video (broadband recommended) of Roy's joyful arrival.
And if you want to see a really surprised, shocked, and very happy Roy - when he found out that plane was his - be sure to see the entire video at an upcoming Pilot Town Meeting hosted by AOPA President Phil Boyer. ( See the 2005 PTM schedule.)
Congratulations, Roy! And good luck to everyone else in the 2005 AOPA Commander Countdown Sweepstakes.
