FAA rules against McClellan-Palomar Airport pilots' group
The FAA has rejected the complaint of a pilots' group that claimed aircraft owners and several aviation businesses had been unfairly evicted from their hangars and offices at McClellan-Palomar Airport (CRQ). AOPA helped local pilots file the complaint (by law, AOPA couldn't be a direct party to the complaint) and asked the FAA to expedite its ruling. The agency took almost a year to decide. The pilots have 30 days to appeal the FAA's decision. "We're disappointed in both the decision and the time it took to reach it," said Bill Dunn, AOPA vice president of airports. AOPA is currently analyzing the 54-page decision.
