AOPA opposes Olathe housing development

AOPA is concerned about a proposed project that would allow for the development of 230 residential lots within a mile of Johnson County Executive Airport in Olathe, Kansas. The association is urging Johnson County commissioners to follow recommendations from the city planning commission and the county planning staff in denying a zoning change request. AOPA has maintained that it's bad public policy to allow homes so close to airports where safety issues and conflicts within the community can arise.
