AOPA has expressed concern about a housing development that is under construction on land adjacent to Ocean City Municipal Airport. The residential development is less than a mile from the airport and is in close proximity to the airport's high-density operation zones. "AOPA recommends that the Worcester County Commissioners consider requiring the developer to include easements and disclosure notices in all sales contracts pertaining to this community," wrote Bill Dunn, AOPA vice president of airports, in a letter to county commissioners. Although the development is under construction, it's not too late to reach a compatible land-use agreement. "AOPA strongly urges Worcester County Commissioners to take the needed proactive steps to protect itself and its citizens from the risks associated with incompatible land use," Dunn said.
