Governor signs bill to make Alaska board permanent

Gov. Frank Murkowski has signed a bill, which AOPA pushed for, to give Alaska a permanent aviation advisory board. "This board gives the aviation community a voice when it comes to state policies on aviation," said Tom George, AOPA Alaska regional representative. The governor created a temporary board shortly after taking office; this measure establishes a permanent body. Murkowski signed the bill under the wing of a new Quest Kodiak airplane at the Alaska Airmen's Association Trade Show and Conference in Anchorage.
