Like the Commander itself, AOPA's virtual Commander software has recently been upgraded and now includes enhanced PFD/autopilot integration, improved heading synchronization, and changes to night lighting and the virtual cockpit, making it more realistic than ever.
If you have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, you can download the add-on software - developed by Flight1 Software in partnership with AOPA - and pilot this highly customized Commander 112A. Members can download the new version for free, or if you're already enjoying Version 1, simply choose the Version 1.1 updater.
The program requires a personal computer running Windows XP and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (the "Century of Flight" edition). A control yoke or joystick also is needed to fly the Commander (rudder pedals are optional), and a high-speed Internet connection is strongly recommended to download the program because of its size (approximately 45 MB).
