With the kickoff of the flying season this week at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, Florida, it's time to make sure pilots are ready for the increased activity at the airport and in the air. So the AOPA Air Safety Foundation is offering free safety seminars to help pilots dust off the cobwebs collected during the winter months. All seminars are located in the FAA building on the Sun 'n Fun grounds.
But if you can't make it to the airshow, check the schedule for a free Air Safety Foundation seminar coming to your area soon!
On Friday, AOPA Day at Sun 'n Fun, the Air Safety Foundation will present "Do the Right Thing: Decision Making for Pilots," a fast-paced seminar that uses thought-provoking scenarios and well-researched facts about the human thinking process to give you tools for making the right choices at the right time.
By the end of this seminar, you'll have a much better idea of how to make the tough calls and prevent small mistakes from becoming big problems. The seminar takes place at 11:30 a.m.
On Saturday, the foundation will offer two seminars. "Maneuvering Flight Hazardous to your Health?" takes place at 10 a.m. and teaches you how to avoid distractions before landing, avoid overstressing the aircraft, and how to improve formation flight skills.
"Single-Pilot IFR" will get started at 11:30 a.m. - find out how you can use cockpit resource management to lower your stress and increase your safety when you're alone in the clouds.
