Part of AOPA's mission is to keep general aviation fun, and we can't wait another day to get the "AOPA Day" party started. So AOPA President Phil Boyer kicked things off tonight with a Pilot Town Meeting. He talked to AOPA members in Lakeland, Florida, about the latest in the general aviation industry.

AOPA Day will go full throttle on Friday, starting with every person entering the Sun 'n Fun event receiving a yellow AOPA sticker. But that's not all. AOPA staff will be on the lookout for those wearing their stickers. One lucky person will be pulled over by AOPA's surPRIZE Squad to receive a Garmin 396 handheld GPS. (AOPA members receive a $5 discount off a single-day admission on Friday - may not be combined with any other offer.)

Boyer also will be on hand that day to talk to pilots about AOPA's efforts to protect your freedom to fly. AOPA Air Safety Foundation Executive Director Bruce Landsberg will discuss GA safety, and AOPA Director of Medical Certification Gary Crump will answer your medical questions.

You also can find out just what goes into the makeover of AOPA's sweepstakes aircraft. Companies participating in this year's Win a Six in '06 Sweepstakes will be talking about their role in the process.

But if you can't break away to make it to AOPA Day, don't worry. The fun won't stop there. AOPA's Fly-In and Open House on Saturday, June 3, will be just as fun - and it's at AOPA's home in Frederick, Maryland. Here's a sneak peek: We'll be giving away another Garmin 396 handheld GPS!
