Terre Haute AFSS restored to full service

Terre Haute AFSS restored to full service

Less than a month after a tornado ripped off its roof, the Terre Haute, Indiana, Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS) has restored all services.

Following the February 17 tornado strike, telephone calls to the Terre Haute facility were rerouted to other flight service stations. But some in-flight radio frequencies controlled by Terre Haute couldn't be switched, so pilots had to try to contact adjacent AFSSs.

Full service was restored Monday morning at 7 a.m., ahead of schedule.
